(Trans)cultural Design Probe
Design Research, MDES Case Study(Trans)cultural Design Probe
The transcultural design probe was intended to understand the lived experiences of adult Third Culture Kids in Vancouver. Through the probe workbook, participants were asked to recollect and reflect on their personal journey as a transcultural identity—from memories attached to objects to personal interpretations of sense of belongingness.
Objects allude to the people who owned them and the social context in which they were used; evoking moments that once were—a particular place at a particular time.
